Solo Guitar Arrangements
I have written several solo guitar arrangements. Some of these arrangements are for early intermediate players who are beginning to explore fingerstyle playing, and some are for solo jazz guitar for advanced intermediates who are familiar with jazz chord forms. All arrangements are written in both standard and TAB notation.
Intermediate Fingerstyle Solos
Theme and variations based on a beautiful Navajo chant.
Every Night When the Sun Goes In
A traditional Appalachian melody played with a gentle swing feel.
This Welsh hymn is often known as Blue Boat Hymn to Unitarian Universalists.
Molly Malone
An Irish classic.
A powerful African-American spiritual.
This standard Bluegrass tune can be played either with a pick or fingerstyle.
Jazz and Pop Fingerstyle Solos
Captures the timeless Patsy Cline feel with a few jazzed up chords for extra harmonic color.
Written by Jesse Harris and made famous by Norah Jones.
Often performed as a ballad, this arrangement is more upbeat and swinging.
A delightful, swinging Duke Ellington song.
Gives this Eric Clapton song the acoustic treatment.
This arrangement takes its inspiration from a duo recording of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass.
