Most classes are 6-8 weeks. Each class focuses on a specific topic.

You only need your guitar and a Zoom connection. I'll provide all class materials, including weekly handouts, chord diagrams, scale charts, songs, and exercises, plus links to playalong videos to help you practice during the week.

Absolute Beginner Guitar Class (6 Weeks)
For brand new guitar players (or players who have only been playing a few weeks). This 6-week class offers a little bit of everything to help you get started, including first chords, easy strumming patterns, and how to read TAB. You will need an acoustic or electric guitar, a pick, and a tuner. I’ll provide the rest: weekly handouts with new songs and exercises, plus reference material to help you continue your guitar journey (LOTS of chords, rhythms and time signatures, and scale diagrams).
First Chords and Strumming Patterns (8 Weeks)
Learn the most common guitar chords and the most used strumming patterns in this 8-week course for newer guitar players. These may be “beginning” strumming patterns, but they work so well that you’ll play them again and again even as you advance. You’ll get weekly handouts with new songs and exercises, plus the Strumming and Finger Patterns PDF and the Open Chords PDF, with LOTS of open chords for future reference.
First Moveable Guitar Chords (6 Weeks)
Learn how to play the most common types of moveable chords: major, minor, dominant 7, and power chords. The final two classes will include an introduction to the CAGED system and tips for adding even more types of moveable chords to your repertoire. You’ll get weekly handouts with exercises. The final week’s handout will include diagrams for a LOT more moveable chords so you can continue learning after the class is over.
Major Scales (6 Weeks)
Learn five moveable major scale forms, common scale patterns, and how to connect scales across the fretboard. In this 6-week course, you’ll also learn a little bit of scale theory and how to memorize all the notes on the fretboard. In addition to weekly handouts, you’ll get the Guitar Scales PDF, which includes diagrams for several other types of scales (pentatonics, blues, and more).
